Philadelphia Young Chef of the Year competition calls for entries

Written by: Admin
The Philadelphia Young Chef of the Year competition is now open for entries from trainee chefs across the country.
Now in its second year, the competition aims to reward the innovation and creativity of talented chefs in full time education aged between 17 and 23, who wi l have to produce a starter or main course using Kraft Foods' leading soft white cheese brand Philadelphia. The competition is championed by professional chef Sophie Wright and is endorsed by the Craft Guild of Chefs, City & Guilds, 3663 and cheese wholesaler the Cheese Cellar. This year there's more reason for colleges to take part in the competition as for each student entry, their college will be entered into a prize draw to win £500 worth of 3663 catering equipment vouchers. Susan Nash, trade communications manager at Kraft Foods UK, said: "Philadelphia offers great quality and versatility to the professional kitchen – it's a must have ingredient. It's great to be able to celebrate young chefs once again after the success of our first competition, and we're looking forward to seeing even more creativity this year." Students can now register on the Philadelphia Professional website and enter their recipe design according to the competition criteria, with the overall winner picking up a £500 cash prize.
