Peros supports Scannappeal charity

Written by: Admin
Peros, a UK leading independent distributor of ethically traded beverages and snacks to the foodservice sector, has chosen Scannappeal - a charity which raises money for much-needed hospital equipment - as the main UK beneficiary of their charity work.

Peros’s ethical business model is founded on sustainable sourcing, respect for the environment and a determination to make a positive social impact wherever they operate.  This last objective led Peros to work with Scannappeal which, since 1987, has raised over £10m for vital medical equipment for hospitals, particularly for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.

The fundraising has already begun.  During May, the Peros Baristas team took part in the Phoenix Trail Stretcher Challenge - the stretcher bearers and patients finishing the course, between Princes Risborough and Thame, raising nearly £1500.  The team also completed the Marlow Twilight 10 Walk at the end of June, looking to raise over £2000.

Peter Goodey, joint managing director of Peros, has become a Trustee of Scannappeal.  He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join Scannappeal as a Trustee. This is a great charity and a chance for me, with the support of a fantastic team at Peros, to give something back to the community.  It’s important to realise that often the amazing equipment in our hospitals is funded by charities such as Scannappeal - that’s what makes our fundraising efforts so essential."
