Over 10,000 chefs now using distributer's new mobile friendly site

Mobile technology is fast changing the way chefs purchase their kitchen equipment, according to catering equipment and disposables wholesaler Alliance Online.
The company has reported more than 10,000 unique visits and 60,000 page views for its recently launched mobile site. Live from 28 September 2011, the site was specifically designed for use on a smartphone, working in exactly the same way as a desktop site. Mike Hardman at Alliance Online explained more about the site: "We've seen a real change in customer purchasing behaviour for orders placed via the mobile site compared to those using the website, which shows that chefs are embracing the ability to order on the move. "There's little gap between weekday and weekend sales, whereas weekday sales have been traditionally stronger on our website. Some of our strongest sales have been on a Sunday, which I don't think we've ever seen online before. "Glassware and crockery pages continue to attract the most visits, but chef's knives are particularly popular on the mobile site, suggesting it is a useful way for chefs in busy kitchens to order products quickly without being at a computer." To see how easy it is for yourself, simply visit www.allianceonline.co.uk on your smartphone and you will automatically be redirected to the mobile site. Existing users of the desktop website will be able to use their current login details to buy from the mobile site. You can also access basic account functions such as viewing order history, changing delivery address and contact details.
