New sustainable trout competition launched

RR Spink, Scottish supplier of trout and salmon products, has launched the New Sustainable Trout Competition.

During this Year of Scottish Food and Drink, the competition is looking for a chef who can showcase their products in an original and innovative way.

The deadline for entries is Monday 16th November and the final of the competition will take place in the Edinburgh Town Cookery School on Wednesday 25th November.

The competition is open to all chefs in the UK working in the foodservice industry, whether in full time employment or in further education. Chefs must submit recipes in writing for two covers of a starter and main course.

A panel of judges will choose six finalists from the submitted entries, using the recipes and photographs to determine originality, skill level and adherence to the key messages.

The winner will receive a three day excursion to experience all aspects of sustainable fish farming, including accommodation, travel and all meals.
