The trek and community challenge saw trekkers restore the school in the Lura Village after it was damaged in the 2015 Nepal earthquake.

Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard, said: “Springboard’s 2017 expedition to Nepal saw 30 intrepid trekkers from across the industry embark on a grueling five day trek through the Mahalangur Mountains in Nepal - encountering all weathers from bright sunshine to snow, thunder storms to thick fog and wilderness camping on route.”

Among those taking part in the trek were Emily Lambert from The Ritz, Natalie Scott from Sodexo, and Robert Ashcroft and David Kinder from Bidfood.

Kinder said: “The trek was an opportunity to meet like-minded people with a common goal – raising funds in a challenging environment and trying to make a difference through fund raising and work at the school.

“I was motivated after years of arm chair support for Springboard and the desire to move to the next level. The money raised will continue to ensure Springboard receives the support it needs.”

So far the trekkers have raised £108,000 with funds still being received. The fund raising target for the trip is £135,000. Donations can be made here.
