Mövenpick launches search for Gourmet Dessert Chef of the Year 2013

Pastry chef Sarah Frankland, winner of the inaugural Mövenpick Gourmet Dessert Chef of the Year competition, will join the judging panel in this year’s contest to find the best gourmet dessert chef the British hospitality industry has to offer.

Launched in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs, the competition challenges professional chefs to create a unique dessert using Mövenpick’s flavours.

Successful finalists will show their skills in a live cook-off in a bid to win a luxury weekend for two to the home of Mövenpick Ice Cream in Switzerland, with two runners up receiving £200 vouchers for a restaurant of their choice.

“I’m excited to be joining the judging panel for this year’s competition and doing my bit to help improve awareness of the opportunity that desserts give to chefs to unleash their creativity and inventiveness.” said Frankland.

Contestants will be judged on factors including innovative use of ingredients, flavour combination and contemporary presentation.
