Michelin becomes the leading European online restaurant reservation platform

Written by: Admin
Michelin has acquired restaurant booking platform Bookatable as it accelerates its presence in the online restaurant reservation market in Europe.

Bookatable, with its head office in London, is the European leader in the online restaurant reservation market with more than 15,000 establishments using its service, and more than 34 million covers booked online and dined in 2015 in Europe.

Michelin commenced a multi-year partnership with Bookatable in March 2013, which allowed it to incorporate Bookatable solutions into the Michelin Restaurants offer - both via the web and through mobile apps.

In addition to giving it a presence in many European countries where Bookatable is already established, the acquisition strengthens and accelerates the development of Michelin's technology platform for online restaurant reservations.

Michelin also hopes to roll out its offering to new countries in the future - with sights set in particular on the Nordics.

Bookatable has partnerships with the likes of Frankie & Benny’s, Garfunkel’s, Chiquito and the Marcus Wareing portfolio.
