Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has announced the appointment of Gavin Hobbs as head chef and Alistair Graham as general manager at his new Steakhouse Bar and Grill in Plymouth.

Plymouth-based chef Gavin Hobbs will join the restaurant, which is set to open in March on the top floor of the Holiday Inn in the city centre.

Hobbs, who was most recently head chef at the Copthorne Hotel, Plymouth, said: “We are planning something really special for Plymouth and I am looking forward to working with, and learning from, the legendary Marco Pierre White.

“I learnt my trade in this wonderful city and I believe it deserves something as great as the Steakhouse Bar & Grill to showcase some of the amazing local produce we will be able to choose from.”

Joining Hobbs at Steakhouse Bar and Grill is Alistair Graham who has been appointed the restaurant’s general manager.

Graham said: “I’m really looking forward to making Marco’s latest restaurant a success and I can’t think of a better location that Britain’s Ocean City.”

The restaurant has space for 174 covers and will be Pierre White’s 16th Steakhouse Bar and Grill to open in the UK. The menu, curated by Pierre White will focus on 'affordable glamour' and feature English and French classics including Welsh rarebit and chicken kiev.
