Malaysia's biggest celebrity chef has been made a Visiting Professor of the University of West London (UWL).
Chef Abdul Wahab Zamzani was nominated by UWL and presented with his Visiting Professor award on March 30 at the university's annual prizegiving ceremony, which took place at the London Syon Park Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Zamzani, a former student of the University, is managing director and principal of Silverspoon International College Malaysia, a specialist hospitality skills training centre. His love of Malaysian cooking has seen him make regular TV appearances as a host and presenter. He is also a consultant for hotels and restaurants across Asia. Zamzani said: "I am so happy to be awarded Visiting Professor by the University. I was a student here and I've experienced first-hand the work of its London School of Hospitality & Tourism and the extra mile the staff at the school are prepared to go for their students. I am an ambassador for Malaysian cooking so to be recognised for my work to promote my country's cuisine is really special."
