Taking place 18 September, writer and broadcaster Grace Dent and comedian Jonny Woo will take to the stage for the third time, to host this year’s fundraiser at The Rooftop at Ace Hotel London, Shoreditch.

The evening will consist of a five-course dinner cooked by London chefs: Jeremy Lee (Quo Vadis), Nuno Mendes (Chiltern Firehouse), Andrew Clarke (Brunswick House), Anna Higham (Lyle’s) and Sebastian Myers & Freddie Janssen (Snackbar), as well as a ‘Live and Silent’ auction throughout the night. There will also be an after party for the first time, including cocktails and food by Ace Hotel, live DJ sets from Daniel Willis (The Clove Club/Luca) and Clive Watson (Blixen) and a performance from Jonny Woo.

There are only 100, £120 tickets available for the event and an additional 100 tickets for the after party – both on sale now (https://www.magicbreakfast.com/Event/magic-dinner-2017). Retailing at £50, the after party ticket includes entry to the terrace and 100 Room of The Rooftop of The Ace Hotel from 8pm to 12am, as well as midnight snacks, cocktails from Ace Hotel and Hackney’s own Our/London vodka, wine and beer for the entire evening. 

With all proceeds going to the charity, last year’s annual dinner raised over £23,000 – enabling Magic Breakfast to deliver more than 100,000 breakfasts.

Magic Breakfast already works with 470 schools across the UK, but has more than 300 schools on its waiting list “requesting urgent food aid”. According to research published in 2016 by the Education Endowment Foundation and the Institute for Fiscal Studies, “children in schools with Magic Breakfast provision boosted their reading, writing and maths results by as much as 2 months’ additional progress over the course of a year, compared to children at schools with no such breakfast provision.”

Funds raised from Magic Dinner 2017 will enable the charity to start working with the most critical of these waiting list schools, as well as continue to deliver healthy and nutritious breakfasts.
