London chefs will join forces to offer gourmet street food at The Great Street Feast 2017 in aid of Freedom from Torture, the charity offering treatment and support for victims of torture.

Vitelio Reyes, executive head chef at Ceviche, Ankush Bhasin, executive sous chef at Benares, and William Curley, patissier-chocolatier, will offer a gourmet street food menu at BAFTA 195 on Wednesday, June 14.

Paul Merrett, chef director of The Victoria, The Fox and Grapes, and The Malt House, and Anton Manganaro, head chef at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, will head the chef line up.

Merrett said: “I spent an afternoon with Freedom from Torture clients in the gardening group. We planted and weeded, they baked bread and we sat on the floor together to share the food they had prepared. I thought this is what healing is about.

“Last year’s Great Street Feast raised over £100,000 for Freedom from Torture - let’s aim even higher this year.”

The event will also see survivors from Tamil support group offer traditional Sri Lankan dishes, breads and pastries and tell attendees on the importance of food and cooking to their culture.

Tickets are priced at £75, which includes food, wine and entertainment and can be purchased here. All proceeds will go towards Freedom from Torture.
