Global services company Sodexo, the catering and hospitality partner at Hampden Park, has appointed Colin Dempsey as head chef at Scotland’s national football stadium.

Dempsey will run the Hampden Park kitchen where he will be in charge of a team of up to forty people on match days. He has over 15 years experience running venues around Scotland where he developed ‘strong culinary and management skills.’

Dempsey, head chef for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events at Hampden Park, said: “I’m excited to embark on this adventure with a great new team behind me. This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to putting my stamp on things here at Hampden.

“My experience in the industry will help us to provide the best possible service for visitors to the stadium, and continue the growth of the venue.”

Previously Dempsey worked as senior chef for Rangers Football Club and his most recent post was executive chef at New College in Lanarkshire.

Craig Younger, general manager for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events at Hampden Park, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Colin to the team at Hampden and the wider Sodexo family.

“With this key appointment in place, we are in a great position to strengthen our food offering at the venue and continue to deliver unforgettable experiences for guests.”
