Two chefs from Heston Blumenthal’s Michelin-starred restaurant, The Fat Duck, who were tragically killed in a car accident in Hong Kong have been named by the South China Morning Post newspaper.

The chefs died after a crash involving the taxi they were travelling in collided with two double decker buses.

Media reports have suggested the two senior chefs were in the city to open a new restaurant and the South China Morning Post named them as Carl Magnus Lindgren (aged 30) and Ivan Aranto Herrera Jorge (aged 34).

The driver of the taxi, who was also killed by the impact, was named as Wong Kim-chung (aged 53). Another 50 people were injured.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “We can confirm two members of our team were tragically killed in a car accident. They were both senior members and great and dear friends.

“Two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed.”
