Written by: Isabel Finch
The Culinary Association of Wales (CAW) has reported a period of significant progress at its bi-general meeting at Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.

CAW highlights include hosting the WorldChefs’ European conference and developing closer links with the Welsh food and drink industry.

President of the CAW Arwyn Watkins and national treasurer Toby Beevers were both re-elected at the meeting for an additional two terms. Watkins reported Peter Fuchs, the Culinary Team Wales manager has resigned due to work commitments.

The CAW also saw regional committees for South, Mid and North Wales replaced by a national committee, with Watkins stressing the importance of members taking on specific responsibilities.

Watkins said: “When I finish my term as president, I want to ensure that there is a legacy across the whole of the association. It’s important that we have succession planning.”

The next competition being considered by Culinary Team Wales is La Parade des Chefs at Hotelympia in London in March 2018.
