Chefs from the Craft Guild of Chefs across all industry sectors will be hosting demos at the 2012 Speciality & Fine Food Fair at London Olympia, which runs from September 2–4.
The Fine Food Forum is set to be the best yet, with sessions running throughout the three-day show based on themes such as local sourcing, sustainable menu development and food innovation. On Sunday, September 2, Dennis Mwakulua of Lexington Catering will give a presentation entitled: Working Lunch with Fine Food. Craft Guild vice chairman Christopher Basten will give a demonstration on Monday, September 3, on innovative menu ideas using local sourcing. Consultant chef Sophie Wright will host a demo on Tuesday, September 4, on creating affordable dishes in a short space of time. She will also be showcasing her two latest books – 'Home at 7, Dinner at 8' and 'Cook on a Shoestring' – the latter coming out in October. Both award winning patissier and chocolatier Will Torrent, who will be demonstrating dishes using Barry Callebaut chocolate and Pret A Manger's Nick Sandler will also be appearing on behalf of the Craft Guild. Other leading chefs taking part are Masterchef winners Shelina Permalloo, Dhruv Baker and Mat Follas, as well as acclaimed Irish chef Catherine Fulvio. Event manager Soraya Gadelrab said: "The Fine Food Forum is always immensely popular at Speciality & Fine Food Fair, so we're delighted to have confirmed such a fantastic line up of chefs at this early stage of planning. "We're currently finalising a few more culinary greats, so watch this space for updates. The aim of the feature is to give visitors – particularly those in foodservice – ideas and inspiration for their own businesses, so we hope it will be a great success."
