The Craft Guild adds turkey to family food appreciation workshop ingredients

Written by: Admin
The Craft Guild of Chefs’ winter family food appreciation workshop brought 24 parents and children together at the Simon Balle School in Hertfordshire to have fun cooking in the kitchen.
Together with Craft Guild chefs they created a number of recipes, including turkey pie using fresh British diced turkey breast provided by sponsor Bernard Matthews Foodservice, the latest company to lend its support to the scheme that aims to teach parents and children new cooking skills. Bernard Matthews is now providing turkey for each event to show how versatile, healthy and cost effective the meat can be as a key ingredient in family meals. The initiative, which began early in 2011, sees Craft Guild members visit classroom kitchens and get families cooking together and learning more about where the food they eat comes from and its nutritional benefits.
