Chefs from Westminster Kingsway College and The Savoy win the Winnie Myers' Traditional Afternoon Tea challenge

The Winnie Myers Traditional Afternoon Tea competition organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs' London Division saw Jack Cordery and Sarah Collis from Westminster Kingsway College (pictured) come first in the college category, while Eran Shina and Imran Khan from The Savoy were first in the industry category.
Now in its second year, the competition challenges students and working chefs to assemble a traditional afternoon tea comprising finger sandwiches, sweet and savoury pastries, scones and teacakes. Sponsored by Gram, Kerry Foodservice, Premier Foodservice and Tate & Lyle, it has now become a tribute to Winnie Myers, a former head chef at the House of Lords, who died in January. This year an extra category was introduced in honour of another past veteran of the London division, chef Artur Voggenberger. The open cake competition held in his name attracted a number of amateur bakers who submitted one large cake or six mini cakes with recipes. Winner of this category was Emma Symonds from West Anglia College who created a raspberry layer cake decorated with an intricate floral design.
