Described as a “brand new and very different food series”, the show aims to encourage Brits to use their spices more often and educate them that “spicy doesn’t mean hot”.

The producers said: “Extraordinary chefs, Cyrus Todiwala and Tony Singh are fiercely patriotic and believe British food is the best in the world – but they think it’s a shame that we Brits leave spices gathering dust at the back of the kitchen cupboard instead of using them every day.”

‘The Incredible Spice Men’ begins on Monday 19th August on BBC2 at 8.30pm.
