Caterers, chefs offered chance to win Mother’s Day luxury stay prize

Gravy brand Bisto is marking Mother’s Day by giving chefs and caterers the opportunity to win a two-night luxury stay, with meals, in Cornwall by encouraging them to decrease time pressure in the kitchen on the big day (March 30th) by using Bisto.

To enter Bisto’s competition and to view new Mother’s Day recipes, caterers must visit www.premierfoodservice.co.uk before Monday, April 14th.

Mark Rigby, executive chef at Premier Foods, advises: “There are a number of ways for outlets to make sure Mother’s Day, renowned for being one of the busiest days on the foodservice calendar, runs smoothly in terms of the food and footfall.

“It is important to plan menus early and entice customers with something different from the day to day offering. We would recommend outlets put together a set price menu especially for the occasion and make sure they advertise in advance to generate interest.

“Using accompaniments is a great way to ‘upsell’ the meal experience, try offering extra gravy for example, and adding the Bisto logo to your menu can also help drive sales.

“At Premier Foods we understand the time pressures caterers are faced with and are pleased to offer Bisto as a tried and tested solution.”

He also recommended that outlets make the most of the day by serving traditional British dishes that are bound to be a hit with all the family.

“While Bisto gravy can be served as an accompaniment to a selection of roast dinners, its bouillon is ideal for using within pies and casseroles as an alternative to making stock from scratch.”
