3663 and Heinz launch summer campaign to find Britain's best burger

Written by: Admin
Food distributor 3663 and sauces market leader Heinz have joined forces on a national campaign to put Britain's favourite burger on the map.
The initiative will run over the summer months and will see the two companies offer their customers a range of tools, recipes and advice to realise the profit opportunity that burgers offer. With burgers as one of the most popular dishes in 2011, especially in pubs according to Horizon's Menurama research, 3663 and Heinz are launching British Burger Week to help all outlets capitalise on their profit potential. Running from June 18-24, an exclusive range of recipes has been designed to give chefs ideas for the week, which will be available from www.3663.co.uk/britainsfavouriteburger. Sales teams will also be taking the recipes to outlets and offering advice on how to build awareness of the week. Exclusive recipes from Tim Anderson, who won the MasterChef 2011 final with a trio of mouth-watering burgers, will be online, including the classic Californian cheeseburger and Ebikatsu Japanese prawn burger. He will also be helping to demonstrate why burgers can help outlets grow sales. 3663 and Heinz are also encouraging chefs across the UK to enter a competition for their burger to be crowned Britain's favourite. To take part, chefs have to nominate one of their best burgers and email the recipe to [email protected] with a picture along with 20 words as to why they feel it is the best. The companies will be looking for flair in flavour and creativity, and standout recipes. The deadline for entries is Sunday, June 10, after which a shortlist of the most inspiring will be uploaded on Facebook at www.facebook.com/britainsfavouriteburger for people to vote on their favourites. The chefs that have created the five most popular burgers will be asked to cook them for a judging panel, which will include Anderson. The chef with the winning recipe will be treated to a luxury weekend break. Second prize will be a Weber barbecue and £200 worth of cooking equipment, and three runners up will each receive £200 worth of cooking equipment. Catherine Hinchcliff, head of customer marketing at 3663, commented: "We're delighted to be partnering with Heinz and Tim Anderson on this campaign and couldn't have teamed with two partners that are more passionate about making burgers brilliant. When we say 'brilliant', it's not just from a taste point of view; it's about being able to demonstrate the profit on a plate that they deliver. "Together with Heinz, we offer a total burger solution to our customers from scratch to readymade and catering from value offerings right up to the posh end of the scale."
