Lynette Tinney: Winner of the Cost Sector Chef Award

Lynette Tinney from Derbyshire CC Catering Services won the Cost Sector Chef Award at this year's annual Craft Guild of Chefs' Awards held on the 16th June.
As catering unit supervisor at Coton in the Elms CE Primary School for Derbyshire County Council's Catering Service, Lynette Tinney is in charge of preparing approximately 160 meals a day for children aged between four and 11 years old.

She has been praised for her enthusiasm and the "innovative" ways in which she and her team encourage the children to engage in healthy eating, having implemented countless initiatives and events to this end. She was crowned School Chef of the Year by the Local Authority Caterers Association in 2007, having impressed judges with a menu that focused on 'brain food'.
