IWC launches UK Restaurant Wine List of the Year Award for 2018

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) has announced a new award for 2018 – UK Restaurant Wine List of the Year – to “shine a light on the best wine lists available on-trade across the UK.”

Open to all UK-based restaurateurs who sell wine, the new category will judge entrants on the range of varieties, countries, regions and wine styles on offer; value for money and consistency of information available to showcase “the innovation and excellence on offer in restaurants.”

Chris Ashton, IWC event director, explained: “‘The UK is home to some of the world’s finest restaurateurs, who curate outstanding wine lists in order to enhance diners’s experiences at their restaurant – whether it’s the perfect wine to pair with a signature dish or encouraging customers to try something a little more unusual.

“The IWC UK Restaurant Wine List of the Year Award is all about finding and celebrating the individuals in the industry who are constantly striving for excellence with the diverse range of wines, they have on offer.”

Sponsored by its wine and spirits partner, Bibendum Wine, the award is open for entry until 11 May via https://www.iwcmerchantawards.com/uk/mas/index.php and costs £25 + VAT.
