Vince Cottam from Westminster Kingsway College won the Competition Chef Award at this year's annual Craft Guild of Chefs' Awards held on the 16th June.
After an early culinary career in the Royal Navy, Vince Cottam joined Westminster Kingsway College as chef lecturer in culinary arts.

His competition achievements include more than 80 gold medals, 15 'best in class', three 'best in show', and bronze and silver medals at the Culinary Olympics.

He regularly judges, but he mostly dedicates his time and effort to his students, going over and above his role at the college to pass on his wealth of competition experience.

He has mentored numerous winning candidates in events such as the NZ-UK Link Challenge and Graduate Awards and is described as a "great ambassador to the competition field".
