Wrapmaster supports BCF Young Chef of the Year

Written by: Edward Waddell
Cofresco Foodservice, maker of the Wrapmaster range, is sponsoring the British Culinary Federation (BCF) Young Chef of the Year 2019.

The BCF junior competition gives chefs under 23-years-old a platform to showcase their culinary skills. This is also an opportunity to win the David Bache Trophy and a cheque for £500.

Adrian Brown, managing director of Cofresco Foodservice, said: “We’re delighted to once again be supporting this important culinary event. With every year that passes our chefs face new challenges and the standard gets higher and higher. We are looking forward to a fantastic day of cooking at the finals, in what will be the 22nd year of the competition.”

Finalists will battle it out at the University College Birmingham on 11 November 2019. In two hours chefs will need to prepare a three-course meal including a vegetarian starter for two. The young chefs will be judged on every aspect of their cooking, from culinary techniques to their presentation.

To support the finalists they will each be given a Wrapmaster for their station. The professional dispensing systems have been developed for safe and speedy cutting of film, foil and baking parchment.

Brown added: “The BCF Young Chef of the Year gives entrants the opportunity to really test their skills and gain valuable experience to take back into their own kitchens.

“With special diets, cross-contamination and hygiene all to consider, we hope Wrapmaster will offer clear benefits during the final.”
