Glynn Purnell: Winner of the New Restaurant of the Year Award

Glynn Purnell from Purnell's, Birmingham won the New Restaurant of the Year Award at this year's annual Craft Guild of Chefs' Awards held on the 16th June.
After gaining Birmingham's first Michelin star at Jessica's, Glynn Purnell opened his eponymously named solo venture in July last year.

A chic and contemporary fine dining restaurant located in one of Birmingham city centre's conservation areas, the 45 cover restaurant offers à la carte and prix fixe menus, as well as gourmet tasting menus, with dishes such as guinea fowl dusted in fennel pollen, with avocado puree, fennel, black olive and quinoa.

Purnell recently featured on BBC's Great British Menu series, having won the national final with his dessert.
