The Craft Guild of Chefs is excited to announce that entries are now open for the 2019 Heat culinary competition, set to take place in Jersey, March 2019.

Open to full-time hospitality students across the UK, this one-of-a-kind contest equally judges kitchen and front of house, and teams must comprise 11 people, including one lecturer and four students in both the kitchen and restaurant.

Allowing college’s to build the competition into the curriculum, qualifying heats will take place across the country this November and the Heat final from 4-8 March 2019 at Highlands College, Jersey (Channel Islands).

There, finalists will spend the four days in the four star St Brelade’s Bay Hotel with a jam-packed itinerary exploring the island’s famous local produce at source, cooking for and judged by some of the biggest names in the industry and celebrating at the prestigious Heat gala hosted by a celebrity chef.

So, what do you need to do to get there?

Simply fill out the application form attached – remember this year’s theme is ‘classical skills with a modern twist’ - and our judging panel will choose the best menus entered. If shortlisted, you will be invited to take part in a qualifying heat later this year.

You will then be required to cook for two Craft Guild of Chefs judges at your college, before going on to compete in the 2019 Heat final if successful.
