Extra time for Tabasco’s ‘hottest chef’ competition for student chefs

Written by: Admin
The deadline for the Tabasco’s ‘hottest chef’ competition has been extended for a further week and student chefs have until October 18 to enter.

Tabasco, owned by the US based McIlhenny Company, in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs is holding the Student Street Food Challenge 2013 to encourage student chefs of any age working in the UK, to create original and flavoursome street food recipes that use one of the Tabasco range of sauces – original red, green jalapeño, chipotle and habanero variants.

These recipes can be based on any global cuisine, but must be prepared and served in 90 minutes, and judges will be looking for innovative use of ingredients and how the Tabasco sauce has been incorporated into the dish, as well as its ease of service in a street food environment.

Finalists short-listed from the paper entries will be invited to a cook-off at the University of West London on November 4.

Top prize for the winning chef is a fabulous trip to the home of Tabasco – Avery Island in Lafayette, Louisiana – to experience the region’s cuisine and culture.

Closing date for entries is October 18 2013. For an entry form, visit http://craftguildofchefs.org/extra-time-tabasco-s-hottest-chef-competition-student-chefs – Entries should be sent to the Craft Guild of Chefs or emailed to [email protected]
