Chef Manager - Compass (High Wycombe)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager to oversee the catering operations at The Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe (part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare).

Main Responsibilities

As Chef Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of catering for the patients and the staff/visitor restaurant. The majority of food is delivered to the site; as Compass offers an ‘Esteem’ and ‘Steamplicity’ product which is developed centrally then prepared on site, preserving flavour and texture. Snacks and dietary/cultural diets are catered for from fresh.  Staff restaurant food is prepared from fresh from a selection of delicious menus.

As Chef Manager you will oversee a team of around 6 including kitchen staff and ward host/hostesses who deliver the meals to patients. Primarily you will be responsible for client management, stock management, all financial aspects and Health and Safety of the operation alongside managing the kitchen.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Chef Management Experience - preferably within healthcare but not essential
  • Standards and compliance management style
  • Sound knowledge of hygiene and health & safety
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
  • Interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills
  • A 'Can-do' attitude
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Computer literate
